Brandon Point… again

Went for another hike without the video camera. This time down to Brandon Point again.
However, this time instead of sticking to the main route, I dropped off to the right fairly soon after passing the lookout tower and followed the wall for most of it, where the wall was still there. It’s very off piste and you should only go that way if confident in your hiking ability. It’s grand like, but there are some steep bits with poor ground, and while some of the vegetation was heavy, there was a fairly easy to follow half path.
There’s a stream/river crossing to content with. While it was ok this time, the last time I came this way it proved a lot more difficult to get across. Something to keep in mind if there’s been a lot of rain.

The heather on this trip was simply amazing, the ferns/bracken were either green or dying/dead, the grass was a vibrant green and we’d blue skies with white puffy clouds for a lot of it;, the colour was fantastic.

By the time I got to the view looking into Sas I was tired enough and the weather was just turning at this elevation. At 300 meters it was fine… incredibly windy, but fine, but by 400m is was turning nasty, with showers etc.

I’m not going to go into too much detail of the hike here as I hope to go out this weekend and actually make a video of the trip.
It would make for great drone shots, but the wind at some stages was gusting 68km/h, so who knows what this weekend will bring.

Right here are my favs from it. Good fun was had with the wide angle.

thanks
