That was a first…

Yeah, so first time not completing a hike… Just didn’t feel physically up to it, and in turn that made me mentally not up to it either.

There’s a few things going on atm, first world “problems” and I think it just all contributed. Add to that i had been kinda sick for 2 weeks of January which probably didn’t help either. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there…

The hike itself should have been ok, I was expecting the ground to be hard going, similar to the Cumeengeera Horseshoe from last year, and it didn’t disappoint. I’d downloaded a .gpx track from mountainviews, and its was pretty much spot on. Going up to Coombane you still needed to pick your own line which was fine as the ground was pretty wet and rocky. and then over.

I think the video covers it all and my disappointment at not completing it, but i’ll definitely do it later in the year. for a whole raft of reasons now…

Once final point, at the end of the video there are two images of Standing Stones and the cows. This was at a place called Uragh, which I called into on the way home. The absolute worst road i’ve been on in some time, but just wow, the photo opportunities in that valley are simply breathtaking. I recorded footage and took a lot of images there, but the light was pretty naff and it all looked rather flat after reviewing it. I could have made a short video out of it,, but it would have in no way done it any justice, so i’m going to wait for better light before heading back. An absolutely amazing spot.

Right, thanks for reading, here are the images from the hike, it really is stunning scenery down there.
