Más Wild Camp

Watch on YouTube

this was another cracking night spent on a mountain. This time it was Masatiompan down at the end of the Dingle Peninsula with amazing scenery and fantastic weather. There’s not really much that I can add that the video doesn’t cover. It’s my longest video yet and i’ve enjoyed putting it together. What I really like about it is I get to relive the whole hike time and time again. Sometimes, I do ramble on a bit about nothing,, but I can cut it out. I’m still learning all aspects of putting a video together but i’m enjoying it. All that and its not even covering the enjoyment of the hike itself.

Parked up at Teer just before Brandon village. Up a narrow road past the Art Gallery until you get to some gates, With careful parking there’s enough room for a good few cars, so please be mindful when parking up. There was a farmer there, listening to an under 21 hurling game on the radio of all things,,,, in Kerry when I got there. We had a great chat for a good 20 mins before we parted. A nice man who lived all his life in the area. Tough going being a farmer down around there by the sound of it but we covered a whole range of topics about the locality from fishing to farming and all in between. It was a great chat… Then met Raphael and Mags and had another good chat for a few mins, They were on their way down from the mountain and going having what sounded was going to be a real nice evening.

Onwards. Started the walk up, The video has it all to be honest.

The reason I call it Más is … well.. I know I pronounce the English version wrong,, when I say the Irish version I feel like i’m taking the piss. I met an old lad one day when out and he called it Más, so i’m going with that. I did say it an awful lot in the video, and “col” so I’ll have to be weary of that type of thing in future videos.

Here are the pics in the video. I know it in mentioned in the video, but I really love the light at sunset & sunrise. The gradual transitions and colours are amazing. The saturation is boosted a small bit on these and obviously when zooming in, it does enhance the effect, but I try not to go overboard and it’s what I remember from them.

Thanks again for watching and reading this.

If you’re one of the few who read my blog, the. this next image is a bit different. It’s taken with the Drone and is called Sphere. To be honest I had no idea what it did until I came home and found out you could do this with it.. It’s pretty cool and means i’ll try take at least one shot like this whenever I get the drone out..
