The Old Kenmare Road in Autumn

I had done this hike previously from the car park a the top of Torc Waterfall. After that hike and a bit of map checking out I saw Derrycunnihy Church was at the other end. This has the added benefit of being the car park for the a nice long walk in the other direction thru more woodland towards Lord Brandons Cottage. Th few times i’ve done it i’ve rarely met anyone. Its always nice and quite and you can get a feeling for the mountains once you’re up onto the hillside.

For these shots I edited them slightly differently to usual. Pretty much I just raised the black levels a bit and it makes a nice look. I would have used it sparingly before but decided to do the whole set this way on this particular occasion. I like the overall look and it makes a nice collection.

The deer on the ridge really shows the limitation of the video capabilities on that RF 800mm F11 lens. Its fine for the long photos but it seems to so some really weird wobbling/artifacts to the background. I’m writing this some time after the hike, where I have been using the RF 100-500mm since the instead, and there is no such weirdness in that lens . Same camera both time, the R6 MK2

Anyhoo, thanks for calling, hope you enjoy the video and shots
