Away with the birds…

Watch on YouTube

Headed out specifically for a bit of bird photography, My first time doing it as usually when captured its just opportunistic. I didn’t know what to expect really, and some names I still don’t know 100%, but all the fun of learning.

Started at Trabeg on the way into Dingle, but the tide was well out and the gulls were just bathing themselves, fun to watch, but nothing much going on to be honest..

Then onto Ballydavid head, where I did the sunset video before. Just at the start of that walk at Feonagh Beach I got that small Pippet, Not sure what type even after looking at the books, so if someone does kn ow they might leave a comment.

Onto the cliffs. I knew there’d be a good few there with Oystercathers and Gulls etc. It was nice , even tho there wasn’t a great variety of birds to be had. Not sure what the ones on the cliff were. Spent a few hours here. Absolutely loved it.

On a side note, called into Cathair Deargain on the way back, the one I missed in the long video. Just up the road from the chancellors House. Another pretty cool enclosure, occupied by a once powerful farmer according to the sign. Kinda pissed I missed it as it would have made a great addition to that Video :(

I then decided it was home time and said i’d call back into Trabeg, but again there was nothing going on. On the way out from it, I said to hell with it, i’d go to Kinard just for a look.

This was probably the best decision I was lucky enough to make, regarding anything really, in a long long time. The Gannets put on a fantastic show for about an hour. There was Shags or Cormorants, I never know, also bopping in the water, along with the usual gulls.

Just as I was about to head for home, a seal popped its head up and spent some time watching me, waiting for me to leave I reckon..

Turned out to be a fantastic day, and really enjoyable. I didn’t even think about making a talking video until after I came home, and it was just nice to film the birds with the Canon camera.

Thanks for dropping by here are the images from the video
