Canon EOS R6 Mk2
Taking the Canon EOS R6 Mk 2 out around the Dingle Lighthouse and the Kinard Beach area just to see what it was like, outside of my garden.
Lots of reviews online are mostly studio based and I just wanted to get out anyway so why not…
Just want to clarify, i’m not a video guy, with all the technicalities that involves.
Give me a camera, let me shoot video, let it be good, or in this case great, that’s all I'm looking for and that’s all I can do tbh.
Of the reviews i’d seen I was expecting it to be excellent and wasn’t let down.
Its hand down the best camera for both video and photography I have ever owned, and will probably ever will own.
I wasn’t planning on releasing this video, but I really liked some of the shots on it and wanted to do it more just for myself that I could watch back.
I haven’t been feeling the best lately, whatever type of a bug I have, so this was a really nice relaxing day. I’d been thinking of maybe going up on Bulls head, but the light in the morning was poor and by the time the evening came around I just didn’t feel up to it.
The stabilisation is awesome in it. Editing in Final Cut Pro I enabled stabilisation and just left it at default. While the camera video is good enough, doing this is post just helped a small bit more.
The Audio is very good, provided there’s no wind around. In the first clip with the Gulls you can hear, I think, a robin in the background, chirping away.
All shots are 4k 60 All shots are handheld. shutter speed varied as trying to control exposure.
3 lenses used , 24-104 f4 70-200 f4 100-400 5.6/8 most were used at the long end.
It’s not going to replace the GoPro just purely for convenience when hiking, at least I don’t think it will, but we’ll see how it goes. Never say never.
The next video should be back to Normal, but I might throw in the odd video like this in future, just for a change..
Here are the images I included in the end of the video.
