Sunset
Another one from Ballydavid Head, I really do enjoy that whole area, there’s just something about it.
First proper sunset of the year and a fantastic experience it was.
Parked at the small beach and worked my way up around the headland. There was some fabulous views along this route. If is said the word “lovely” once, I said it a hundred times :D … but it was ,, truly fantastic.
I’d initially planned on getting up to the ruins, but the spot on the way up where the photography group were situated was definitely the best location. Going up to the ruins would have resulted in more of a looking down onto the scene rather than into it.
I didn’t want to intrude, but, to not be rude, I dropped down to say hello. The photographer hosting the workshop was Rodney O Callaghan, who it turns out is from Donreaile, not a million miles from my home place also. He started with I follow you on YouTube so I was suitably mortified from the off… We had a great chat and he had no problem with me staying with them. I don’t actually know anyone else involved in photography so this was, for me, great to experience. The group he had were also more than welcoming, altho I think I may have been speaking a bit fast and country for some of them. Either way, a very nice bunch all around.
We got a great sunset and the colours were absolutely fantastic.
The temptation is to crank up the saturation a lot, but I wanted to try get away from that this time, and tried to keep it down a bit. When I got home and saw the colours captured I was delighted. I never know how things go on location, not fully at least.
I hung around for a good while, long after the group had left, probably too long to be honest from a photography point of view, but It was such a nice evening it was no bother. IT was tempting to stay around and try some astro, which I have done much of, but I knew i’d a long day ahead the following day, and ended up doing a 16km hike around the Three Sisters and Sean Sibheal, which is the next video.
Here are the shots from the video, I’m delighted how they came out especially the once with Sean Sibheal in the distance, you can see the building is sharp out. I kept them in order off being taken to show how the light and colour changed as the evening went on.
Right, thanks for visiting
