Valentia Island

Watch on YouTube

First time in this neck of the woods. A long drive down after work on Friday evening, left me just about enough time to get in the sunset. IT was a pretty ok sunset even if we didn’t get the full whack with the cloud on the horizon. but it was ok all the same. I was a bit high after the drive down, getting parking and then the rush up to Bray Head itself. Back to the van in the semi-dark, I had a torch in the bag but didn’t really need it.

The following morning. Well, what can be said about Geokaun Mountain that wasn’t shown in the video. The Cloud just totally killed it.

I ended up staying up there too long. I changed between the peak and the Fogher Cliffs a number of times, not shown in the video, because, well,,, there was nothing to see.

I did meet a very nice couple and their dog at the Quarry/Grotto and we had a good chat for a long time, the royal family as they were called due to their names. It was very pleasant there sitting in the cool shade of the quarry.

Probably the most expensive day of paying for views I have had.,
Geokaun €8
Kerry Cliffs €5
Lighthouse €8 (which I didn’t pay)

Although when I left Geokaun the gate seemed open, so no idea what was going on there…
The Cliffs are worth the fiver, the views, even on the day I was there, were pretty great. They have full facilities there also which is handy. In peak season it must be jammers, I would not ever see myself going there at that time..

The rest of the day then is pretty much what was in the video.

Anyway, here’s the shots from the end of the video, happy with how they came out for the most part even with the haze.

thanks
